AJ's Kids works year round to support hospitalized children all over San Diego. AJ's Playhouse has participated in an annual Children's Miracle Network Radiothon for the past two years, which, along with our Clear Channel radio stations has raised well over a million dollars for Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. Children’s facilities, it's staff, and especially it's patients were an inspiration to the whole Playhouse, and when AJ learned of one of their special needs, he decided to make it top priority. "AJ's Kids" was formed to help as many hospitalized kids as possible get a little something that means a lot..a toy. We work year round to collect toys and raise funds to buy them in order to supplement Children's already existing toy program (which generally runs out of toys by June each year.) Each toy helps bring a smile to a child, either at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego or one of 14 other hospitals that Children's distributes them to. With the continued support of the San Diego community and listeners like you, we will eventually reach our goal: To make sure that every child that needs to spend time in the hospital has a toy in their hands, and at least for a moment, a smile on their face.

"I am writing to thank you, because my daughter was in the hospital this week, and the one thing that lit up her face was the stuffed tiger she recieved.  I try and donate a few toys every year, and now I know firsthand what it really means to a child to have that toy brighten up a bad experience.  You really do make a difference!  She is feeling better now, and at home, but she still keeps her stuffed tiger close!"
